OOP VERY RARE LIMITED EDITION ~ Oz Emerald City Tarot: A rare tarot deck from somewhere over the rainbow by Robert Tomlinson.
We invite you to join us on a journey to the land of Oz. During this journey you’ll meet many of the beloved characters that were created by L. Frank Baum. You’ll also meet a few characters Robert created specifically for this deck.
The inspiration for this deck happened while Robert was working on Titanic Tarot. He was watching Wizard of Oz and listening to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. So, he thought it would be cool to do a Dark Side of Oz tarot deck. After he started reading the Oz books (instead of just going from what he knew from the movies), he realized the Oz books were already dark enough. That’s why he decided to name the deck simply Oz Tarot (opposed to Dark Side of Oz).
The deck features 78 illustrated cards with much inspiration from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. The cards come packaged in a rigid two piece cardboard box. The cards also have GREEN gilded edges. The cards were hand drawn and then colorized in Photoshop. The cover of the box and the back design of the cards were done in Adobe Illustrator. The Oz logo was made so it looked exactly the same right-side up as it does upside down.
The Major Arcana consist of some characters you’re familiar with such as Dorothy, the Lion, the Tin Woodsman, the Scarecrow and the Wicked Witch. Within the Major Arcana you’ll also discover lesser known characters such as King Pastoria, Princess Ozma, Queen Lurline and China Princess.
DESCRIPTION:
STANDARD EDITION: The cards are 70x120mm and are printed on 350gsm premium stock with a glossy finish.
The edge of the cards have a green gilt to add a touch of magic. The cards are packaged in a rigid two piece cardboard box.
DELUXE EDITION: With this option, the rigid two piece cardboard box is then packaged in a custom wood box. This wood box was made specifically for this tarot deck and the lid of the box has the Oz logo.
Included with the tarot deck is a booklet describing each card.
