The already out of print LIMITED EDITION Bohemian Fortune Telling Cards with cold stamping, special made cotton bag, and signed numbered certificate of authenticity.

Details:

  • 36 fully-illustrated cards based on the “Austrian fortune telling Cards” pattern. There are also TWO extra “Falsehood” cards in every deck, as well as an alternative Soldier (female) card, a title card, and a signed, numbered Certificate of Authenticity, so 41 cards in all.
  • Larger size of 7.8cm by 12.8cm (3 inches by 5 inches approximately)
  • The Limited Edition have different backs than the smaller standard edition.
  • Painstakingly cold-stamped. Baba uses subtle cold-stamping throughout the whole image. This make the cards “flash” with metallic colours when the light hits them.
  • The cards are printed in the European Union helping to protect the deck from being illegally copied!
  • Printed on high-quality German made 330grm specialist playing-card stock with a carbon inner layer to protect against bending and creasing.
  • Lightly varnished for durability without a plastic feeling, leaving a fairly matte finish.
  • Wooden hinged box for long-term storage. This is made from pine wood which is sustainable hardwood. Please note: These will vary in color and grain!
  • Supplied with a drawstring bag made with a good quality 100% cotton.
  • Little white booklet with meanings and guide for use.
  • Signed, Numbered Certification of Authenticity

Description

The LIMITED EDITION Bohemian Fortune Telling Cards rare Baba’s own unique design and based on a system that they became very familiar with during their time in Prague.  This system is often known as “gypsy” cards, but they prefer not to use this term which can be seen as pejorative. They like the description Bohemian instead, and as the cards are from Central Europe, in and around historical Bohemia, this works well.

This is a distinct type of fortune telling deck which has similarities with Lenormand, Sybilla and Kipper cards, but also has its own characteristics.

This type of card was not completely standardized and so each deck would have a slightly varied collection of cards.  The cards were not usually numbered, so are in no particular order.  The 36 cards included in Baba’s Bohemian Fortune Telling Cards are:
Hope, Fortune, Fidelity, Sorrow, Desire, Sweetheart, Lover, Jealousy, Thief, Child, Letter, Enemy, Constance, Death, Judge, Money, House, Lady, Merriment, Misfortune, Falsehood, Thoughts, Journey, Illness, Unexpected Joy, Gift, Lord, Marriage, Inconstancy, Temptation, Love, Gossip, Visit, Loss and Happiness with two alternative “Falsehood” and “Soldier” cards in the Limited Edition.
